  • SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM

    SPECIAL EDUCATION PROGRAM

Mee-Yah-Noh is a district site for Community Learning Skills and Interactions Programs.  These programs serve the needs of students with cognitive delays and students identified with Autism Spectrum Disorder.  Students in both programs are organized into 5 classrooms: Primary, Intermediate and senior.  All students are valued members of the Mee-Yah-Noh family and take part in school events, opportunities for integration and activities at their appropriate level of ability. The CLS classes take part in Forest School on a regular basis with visitors from other classes.

    Interactions

Interaction is designed to meet the special education needs of students with Autism Spectrum Disorders who have difficulty with social relationships, behavior, and communication. Programming based on individual needs and abilities helps each student gain academic and life skills, and to develop and apply communication skills and socially appropriate behavior.

  • Kindergarten and new student registration for 2024 - 2025

Please visit the EPSB website links below to begin the process of enroling kindergarten or new students for the 2024-2025 school year.

If you have questions, or require assistance, please call our office Monday through Friday 9:00 to 4:00 at 780-475-1929.

For the 2024 - 2025 school year, Mee-Yah-Noh School is full in planned classes from Kindergarten to Grade 6 in the regular program. A Kindergarten student who is a resident and lives in the school's attendance area may still register. We will only accept resident students in Grades 1 to 6 who have newly moved into the school’s attendance area for the regular program. A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic. Non-resident students can enrol in another Division school with space in planned classes.

If you are registering for Kindergarten or are new to Edmonton Public Schools, you must register online.

    New Student Registration 2024-2025

    Moved?
Update your child’s current address with the school office or on SchoolZone, and email proof of address to the meeyahnoh@epsb.ca email account. Valid proof of address is a lease or purchase agreement, utility bill or drivers license.

    New to the Division?
Instead of using SchoolZone, students who are new to Edmonton Public Schools need to submit a completed Student Registration form. Find the form and list of supporting documents you need to provide.

Principal's Message

At Mee-Yah-Noh, we strive to create high quality learning experiences for our students. We believe that every child has unique gifts and talents and that these should be recognized and shared as a part of creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive school community.

We know that significant learning happens when students have positive and healthy relationships with their teachers and school staff in addition to those they have with their parents/guardians. Our students are encouraged to do their best and to learn from their mistakes. This learning allows them to develop and enhance their ability to be respectful, and responsible, and to form healthy relationships.

Communication between home and school is also critical to the success of our students. Please reach out to us with any questions or concerns you might have. In addition to phone calls and email, we use SchoolZone to share important information with our families.

Thank you for joining us at Mee-Yah-Noh!  We look forward to working alongside you and your child as they pursue their educational journey.
